Mindfulness Meditation

Mindful meditation is all about equipping people to cope with stressful circumstances by being aware that there’s a problematic situation & by accepting it. This meditation technique is miraculous & extremely effective when dealing with problems in life.

Every day, stress, disappointments, frustrations, anger, and several negative emotions affect a person’s mind adversely. It is these negative actions & emotions that need to be calmly & effectively dealt with. Set-backs arising from such situations ought to be received without causing any injury to your wellbeing. Mindfulness Meditation as a medicinal practice helps to effectively deal with such negative emotions in an efficient manner.

This form of meditation is also identified by other names like Insightful Meditation which concentrates on allowing people to be conscious & sensitive to their surroundings, helps them grow a sense of compassion in perceiving each moment, thereby enabling these people to accept tense situations, rather than avoiding them. When you are aware of your minds inner state during a Mindfulness Meditation session, you come to accept a difficult situation in your life without much conflict.

By practicing Meditation, one can train the mind to attain a position of tranquility, where the outside forces cannot disturb us. This art of Meditation aids in training & developing strength of one’s mind to
accomplish a state of peacefulness.

Mindfulness Meditation can be practiced by being seated in any appropriate upright posture- such as being seated cross-legged with your back straight, focusing on your breathing which helps you to become aware of your current thought patterns as well as inner state.

Practicing Mindfulness Meditation helps you focus your concentration on your thoughts, your actions, and all present moments in a very non-judgmental way. This form of meditation doesn’t encourage thinking &
evaluating any past actions or situations and neither to think of our uncertain future.

Practicing Mindfulness Meditation can be done through formal & informal techniques. Yoga happens to be one of the formal techniques for Mindfulness Meditation, wherein the person controls and becomes aware of his/her breathing patterns along with suitable body movements.

The 1st step is to be seated in a position that is comfortable, make sure your back is in an upright/ straight position. Take your time to feel at ease & comfortable. Mindfulness meditation involves
your eyes to be partially open, however relaxed. Next, look down towards the floor, then your feet- simply gaze. Don’t stare, don’t be distracted.

The 2nd step is to start paying some attention towards your breathing. Don’t alter the pattern of your breathing or push yourself to deep breathe. Simply observe the inhalation and exhalation of the
pattern of your natural breath. Pay attention to what it feels like.

The 3rd step is to make sure that you don’t allow yourself to get distracted. After sometime, it’s natural that your mind will begin to wander; you’ll have thoughts penetrating your mind. At this stage, don’t force these thoughts out from your mind. Instead, calmly observe them. Slowly, acknowledge that these thoughts exist, because by doing so you accept them and then that helps you to let go of such thoughts.

The last step is to continue the meditation session for the duration that you feel comfortable with. For instance, ideally a 10 to 20 minute meditation session every morning & then again in the evening is all
you need.
